Steffi and Matthias planned a beautiful intimate wedding in the cobbly streets of Nürnberg with just a few of their close friends and family, and it was wonderful. Romantic, relaxed and personal, they had a small civil ceremony in the 16th century merchant’s house in the heart of the old town; the Fembohaus, and then celebrated at Minecci, a cosy Italian restaurant close to the city walls. The highlight of the day for them were their father’s emotional speeches at the end of the day
I love how Matthias proposed! Steffi tells the story: “The proposal happened in Paris, but not so kitschy on the Eiffel Tower, no; we had bought some delicious food and wine in a nice little street and had a fantastic picnic on the bed of our hotel. This was the first time that I thought.. if he’ll someday ask me THE question, this would be the perfect situation! And then he did just that a few minutes later with a ring that his Mum had given to him! This was even better than the best proposal I could have imagined. What he forgets to tell at the end of this story, is that afterwards we went to see Moulin Rouge, which I had already planned for Matthias as a birthday present, so we celebrated our engagement with champagne watching a sexy show with scantily dressed girls! :) ”
Steffi also had some good advice for future couples planning a wedding: “Trust your gut feeling! If you want to do it big, do it big – if you want to do it small, do it small. Focus only on what is important for you as a couple”
